The Wines
Radford Dale Renaissance Chenin
We’ve worked with this special 1969 planted vineyard of Chenin for over 15 years and are still discovering nuances year on year. Tiny yields and berries produce terrifically concentrated wine, whilst the maritime influence washing in from False Bay contributes freshness and tension.
Land of Hope Reserve Chenin
Balanced and poised, this wine provides just enough richness to please the palate and just the right amount of zing to refresh. Land of Hope is Radford Dale's Educational Trust - set up to provide private education for the children of previously disadvantaged RD employees. Profits made from these wines fuel the Trust. So, drink well, do good.
Radford Dale Vinum Chenin
Receiving a significant inclusion from the 1969 planted Renaissance vineyard, plus mature bush vines parcels in the Polkadraai, the Vinum Chenin Blanc is the sums of its parts. Textural, compelling and transparent of varietal and place.
Easthope Chenin Blanc
Chenin is a rare varietal in New Zealand, but the Easthope family of Hawkes Bay work wonders with it. No doubt inspired from their time making wine in Stellenbosch in the late 90s. Wholly familiar, yet individual to our Cape expressions, we’re massive fans.
Catherine & Pierre Breton Vouvray
Low intervention wine icons, the Breton family are both generous and humble in their Dilettante (‘dabbling in’) Chenin Blanc. Fleshy, honeyed and cut by thrilling acidity, it’s a beautiful expression from that other famous Chenin Blanc region, the Loire.
Roches Neuves Thierry Germain Saumur Insolite
Thierry Germain of Saumur is a pioneer of biodynamic farming in the Loire, producing some of the regions most coveted Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. L’Insolite (‘the uncommon’) is a chiseled and detailed Chenin Blanc from biodynamically farmed vines of some 90 years age. Old vine Chenin mecca.
